One of our favorite parenting tools is something called "curious questions".

Curious questions are meant to help you connect with your kids on a deeper level about any and everything.

In this case, using curious questions about video games takes you out of the critical parenting role and in it's your kids to share with you exactly what it is they love so much about games. It gives you a chance to check in with them regarding self awareness. It also gives you a chance to see if they understand what they are like after playing an hour of video games.

Parents, before you're critical or dismissive - be curious!
